Spanish ophthalmology specialist Clínica Baviera has acquired Optimax Group
London – CFI is pleased to announce that it acted as exclusive financial advisor to Clínica Baviera on its acquisition of Optimax Group.
Clínica Baviera is a leader in advanced ophthalmology. It specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of all types of visual disorders. Its network of clinics is made up of more than 100 centers spread across four countries (Spain, Germany , Austria and Italy), a team of more than 200 ophthalmologists has already performed more than 1,000,000 treatments.
The company is listed on the Madrid stock exchange with a market cap in excess of €400m.
Optimax was founded more than 30 years ago, currently has 19 clinics located in the main cities of the UK from where it offers refractive surgery services and other ophthalmological specialties, through a team of more than 130 people, with a turnover in year 2023 of close to 17 million euros.
The acquisition of the Group implies the entry of Clínica Baviera into a country as relevant as the United Kingdom, with more than 68 million inhabitants, which, together with Spain, Germany and Italy, continues to consolidate the Company’s strategic growth plan.
